Dominicus Jordan, Jr. was born about 1683 in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, son of Dominicus Jordan and Hannah Tristram. He married Joanna Deering in 1708 and then Joanna Bray in 1714. His father was killed by a Native American hatchet to the head in 1703 in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. The Indians then abducted Dominicus, Jr., his siblings and his Mom and took them to Canada. They were held captive for seven years - six with the Indians and one with the French. They were later returned to Maine with the help of an Indian woman. |
